At the awards show, Diesel presented the award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, and after arriving on stage, he saw Johnson in the audience and said, "Hey, Dwayne." The two smiled at each other while the audience laughed.

Many fans of the two actors hoped this was a sign that Johnson might return to the Fast & Furious franchise, as the actor's last real appearance was in the 2019 film Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw—he didn't appear in 2023's Fast X.
