LSU landed one of the top defensive line prospects in the 2026 class on Thursday night.
JaReylan McCoy took to social media to announce his commitment to the team, choosing LSU over Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Alabama, among others. McCoy took visits to his home state schools Ole Miss and Mississippi State back in March.

The 247Sports Composite ranking has McCoy rated as the No. 12 defensive lineman and the No. 6 prospect out of Louisiana in the 2026 class.
In 2024, McCoy helped lead Tupelo to a 14-0 record and the Missouri 6A championship. McCoy racked up 30 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 4 quarterback hits, and 1.5 sacks.
The defender first started gaining attention when he racked up 70 tackles as a freshman in 2022. That season, McCoy helped his Tupelo team achieve a 13-1 record.
Now, the DL will join a talented LSU team that already has an impressive 2026 class. Currently, the Tigers have the No. 5 class class in the country for 2026, headlined by 4-stars Richard Anderson Aiden Hall, Kenny Darby, and McCoy.
