AMEN THOMPSON and Terry Rozier will be BANNED for upcoming games as the NBA dished out suspensions after the brawl between the Houston Rockets and Miami Heat.

Houston guard Thompson, who violently threw Tyler Herro to the floor during the game on Sunday night, is given the biggest punishment – two games without pay, the NBA league office confirmed.

Houston Rockets guard Amen Thompson has been suspended for his part in the fight with Tyler Herro Six players and staff were ejected after the brawl Herro was NOT suspended but Heat teammate Terry Rozier was

He will miss games against the Dallas Mavericks (January 1) and Boston Celtics (January 3)

Heat guard Rozier jumped onto Thompson after he and Herro were on the floor and will be suspended one game without pay.

Rozier will miss the game against the New Orleans Pelicans on January 1.

Herro will NOT miss any games but does receive a $25,000 fine.

Jalen Green has also been fined $35,000 as he jumped into the middle of the melee.

Rockets head coach Ime Udoka was slapped with a $50,000 fine with the league citing “verbal abuse of a game official”.

The statement added he did not leave the court in a timely manner.

Along with those mentioned above, Rockets assistant Ben Sullivan was also ejected from the game but escaped any punishment.

Houston vet Fred van Vleet also received a $35,000 fine for an unrelated incident.

He was ejected for “reckless contact” with a referee 10 seconds before the fight broke out.

The brawl, which saw multiple players and staff involved, broke out late in the fourth quarter of Miami’s 104-100 win over Houston on Sunday.

Thompson was guarding Herro on an inbound play when the players squared up to each other and grabbed hold of each other.

Thompson, who had been defending Herro throughout the game, suddenly threw the Miami star to the floor – prompting Rozier, Green, Udoka and others to pile in.

Herro may have lost that battle but he won the war – not only because he avoided suspension but he scored 27 points, grabbed six rebounds and added nine assists in the win.

After the game, he aimed a jab at Thompson, saying: “Just two competitors going out there and playing basketball… It was just a physical game.

“Guess that’s what happens when someone’s scoring, throwing dimes, doing the whole thing.

“I’d get mad too.”

Vernon Maxwell, who won a title with Houston in 1994, loved the fight and had several posts on X declaring Thompson the winner.

He even said he’d pay for any fine incurred, before later joking he’d donate $100 for Herro to take “a self defense class”.

He wrote: “I love me some Amen Thompson. Put his fine on my tab Rockets.

“And I’ll take care of anyone else’s fine that stands up for their Rockets teammates.

“I love it!! Amen teach me some jiu jitsu young fella!

“Someone tell Machine Gun Kelly to leave Amen Thompson alone.”

He later added: “Also after speaking with Coach Ime (and my financial advisor) we have decided it’s not the greatest idea for me to offer to pay all future fines for the team.

“I don’t want to send the wrong message. Instead for each Rockets win I will donate $100 to a self defense class for MGK.”

But after the suspensions and fines were confirmed, Maxwell was not impressed: “2 game suspension for Amen. 25k fine and no suspension for the instigator MGK.

“The league has never liked Houston and they must have a thing for skinny white kids that can’t rap.”
