DENVER (KDVR) — Sixteen people taken into custody Tuesday following a home invasion at the Edge at Lowry apartment complex are Venezuelan nationals not authorized to be in the U.S. and are suspected Tren De Aragua associates or members, a spokesperson with Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Wednesday.
The Aurora Police Department said Tuesday night that 19 people had been taken into custody in total in relation to the armed invasion. APD told FOX31 that 19 people remained detained as of Wednesday morning.
ICE specifically confirmed that Enforcement and Removal Operations Denver had taken 16 people into custody at the complex on Tuesday, and that "all those detained" were Venezuelan nationals.

The two victims were allegedly tied up, pistol-whipped, beaten and stabbed, Aurora police said.
Officers carried out search warrants on apartments in two of the complex's six buildings on Tuesday as part of the investigation, according to police.
An ICE spokesperson told FOX31 that the suspects detained will remain in ICE custody "pending removal proceedings or hearing before an immigration judge."
According to police, no one has been arrested so far and no arrests are expected to happen on Wednesday.
