Elizabeth Spalding Lee Edwares received the VOC Truman-Reagan Medal of Freedom, at the opening of the Victims of Communism Museum, June 2022. This medal is the highest honor from the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, which he co-founded in 1994.

Freedom and conservatism were at the center of Edwards’s outlook.
