CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An expansion plan for Charlotte’s airport is another step closer to becoming a reality. The council voted 8-2 Monday night to approve a proposal that would more than triple the amount of flight paths into CLT. Supporters say such a move would improve safety and mitigate aircraft noise. If all parts of the plan continue to get the go-ahead, the number of paths would more than triple, increasing from eight to 27 in two years.
