AUSTIN (KXAN) — In an announcement Friday, the University of Texas at Austin said it promoted Assistant Chief Shane Streepy to chief of police of the UT Police Department. The announcement came following the resignation of former UTPD Chief Eve Stephens. Streepy is UTPD’s seventh police chief, according to the university.
