Leeds United faced off against Southampton in a closely contested match, which ultimately ended with a 0-1 victory for Southampton. The game showcased both teams' tactical prowess and determination to secure the win.In the first half, both teams displayed strong defensive structures, making it difficult for either side to break through and create scoring opportunities. However, Southampton managed to capitalize on a well-executed counterattack, resulting in the lone goal of the match.Leeds United fought hard to equalize but were unable to find the back of the net despite creating several chances in front of goal. Their efforts were commendable, but Southampton's solid defense proved too difficult to penetrate.Overall, it was a well-fought match between two competitive teams.

Southampton secured an immediate return to the Premier League after Adam Armstrong was the hero in a 1-0 victory over Leeds United in the Championship play-off final.

Saints' top scorer Armstrong provided the decisive first-half strike at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, with his 24th league goal of the season sending Russell Martin's side straight back into England's top division.

The pair had scored a combined 197 goals this campaign, but just the one finish was enough to settle what was only the third second-tier play-off final between two sides relegated the previous year.

Neutrals with ties to other Premier League clubs were watching on with vested interest to see whether it would be Elland Road or St. Mary's Stadium their team would be travelling to next season - Maguire evidently one of them - and given his ties to two famous rivalries with the West Yorkshire club, he wasted no time to hit them whilst still freshly wounded.

Dennis Crook said: “Defence all over the place for their goal and to be honest need a new rebuild under Farke. Rutter, Gnoto can leave not good enough.”

Nhoj Notlimah Noisseh called the performance “gutless.”

Leeds fans have been trying to see the bright side, with many looking ahead to next season.

"In a few days we will look at the bigger picture, 90 points, the way we played the Play-Offs and the way we played the Final today, there is no reason to dwell.

"It's also more important to take this disappointment and experiences as extra motivation to make sure the supporters, who were second to none, have a day when they deserve to celebrate. For that we feel the pain today and are deeply didappointed we did not give our supporters something to sing about.

"It will be difficult to come back stronger than 90 points in the season which was a great achievement.

"I totally trust this Club. My experience, after a difficult start with all the exit clauses, it wasn't until September when this Club was on the right path."
