In a thrilling matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Phoenix Suns, the Timberwolves emerged victorious with a 2-0 lead in the series. Led by an impressive performance from their star player, who scored 25 points, the Timberwolves dominated the game from start to finish.

The Timberwolves' defense was stifling, holding the Suns to just 90 points while their offense was firing on all cylinders. The team moved the ball well and found open looks, capitalizing on every opportunity to extend their lead.

Anthony Edwards scoring just 15 points on 3-for-12 and Karl-Anthony Towns scoring only 12.

The Wolves, who lost all three regular season games to the Suns, got a monster game from Jaden McDaniels on both ends of the floor, as McDaniels scored 25 points and had eight rebounds while defending Devin Booker and Kevin Durant all night. Mike Conley added 18.

The teams head to Phoenix for Game 3 on Friday night. Minnesota has held a 2-0 series lead only one other time in franchise history, against Denver in the first round in 2004 en route to a 4-1 series victory.

Karl-Anthony Towns, who had 12 points.

Timberwolves went on an 8-0 run in the first 2:48 of the game, thanks to three Suns turnovers.

But the Suns fought their way back, even having a chance to take their first lead of the game with seven seconds left, but Beal missed a fast-break dunk.

Monte Morris made a lay-up on the other end for a 24-21 Minnesota lead after the first quarter, where the Suns only shot 7-20 from the field.

Karl-Anthony Towns, the Timberwolves’ second-leading scorer, was severely limited in the first half after getting three fouls with 53 seconds left in the first quarter.

Jusuf Nurkic (10 points, 14 rebounds) helped negate some of Gobert's award-winning and shot-altering defense. After the Timberwolves set a franchise playoff record with a plus-24 rebounding margin, the Suns had a 41-39 edge, but progress was elusive beyond that.
