Olivier Awards, celebrating excellence in British theatre, have once again honored the best and brightest talents of the stage. The 2024 ceremony showcased a diverse range of performances and productions, highlighting the incredible talent within the industry.
Among the winners were standout performances from seasoned veterans and emerging stars alike. The coveted Best Actor and Actress awards went to performers who captivated audiences with their emotional depth and impeccable skill. The Best Play award recognized a thought-provoking and innovative piece of writing that pushed boundaries and challenged conventions.
The biggest winner of the night was Sunset Boulevard with seven wins, including both Best Actor and Actress in a Musical for its leading duo Tom Francis and Nicole Scherzinger. Jamie Lloyd won the Sir Peter Hall Award for Best Director and the show also won Best Musical Revival. Jack Knowles took home the White Light Award for Best Lighting Design; Alan Williams won for the Outstanding Musical Contribution award for his musical supervision & musical direction and Adam Fisher won the d&b audiotechnik Award for Best Sound Design.
The Pussycat Dolls singer also said that “coming from really humble beginnings I always wanted to be a singer and do musicals”.
The 2024 Olivier Awards played host to Hollywood stars and TV actors, with this year's nominees taking to the competition's 'green carpet'.
