Golden State Warriors faced off against the Charlotte Hornets in a highly anticipated matchup. However, the game took an unexpected turn when Draymond Green was ejected in the second quarter for arguing with the referees.
Green, known for his fiery passion and intensity on the court, let his emotions get the best of him as he vehemently protested a call. Despite his teammates' efforts to calm him down, Green continued to argue and was ultimately given two technical fouls, resulting in his ejection from the game.
Paolo Banchero drove to the cup for a layup. Green continued to argue with Acosta, who walked away from Green at one point. Although Curry and other teammates were at Green's side to make sure he didn't cross the line, he eventually did when he continued jawing with Acosta as he walked to the bench.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr tried to reason with officials, as Green appeared to yell expletives during his exit. Meanwhile, Curry shook his head before kneeling down and attempting to fight tears. He covered his face with his jersey as he walked around Golden State's bench.
The team was led in scoring by Andrew Wiggins, who recorded 23 points and six rebounds. Curry added 17 points and a game-high 10 assists.
Green had three rebounds and one assist before his night ended. He's averaging 8.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and six assists over 46 appearances this season.
After hitting the dagger shot -- a step-back 3-pointer over Orlando's Jalen Suggs with 33 seconds left in regulation -- Curry pulled out his signature "night night" celebration as he ran down the side of the court. Then, as he reached the Warriors bench, he kicked three chairs.
"I was letting out a little steam," Curry said. "Nothing is guaranteed in this league. The way that we went out and competed ... the way the season is going, maybe it's the way you see how your back is against the wall. I don't know how many people would have picked us in this kind of game -- back-to-back setting, down two starters -- and we found a way to fight to get a win."
