In a thrilling matchup between the Indiana Pacers and the Toronto Raptors, the Pacers came out on top with a final score of 130-122. However, despite their victory, the Pacers wasted an incredible performance by their star player who scored a whopping 61 points.
The game was a showcase of offensive firepower from both teams, with each side trading baskets throughout the night. The Pacers were led by their standout player who put on a scoring clinic, hitting shots from all over the court and carrying his team to victory.
The Pacers fell to 33-26, and their lead on Orlando and Miami for sixth place in the Eastern Conference fell to one-half. Toronto improved to 22-36.
Whatever the meal preference, this young team again looked hungry -- extending its post-All-Star break record to 3-0.
And it came with a pretty typical menu, too.
Rookie Gradey Dick had 18 points and made two key 3s late to break open the game while matching his season high with four 3s.
"This is just the beginning," Rajakovic said, referring to Dick. "He's going to have good games, he's going to have bad games, but he needs to continue winning in those situations, continue to learn and get better."
Bennedict Mathurin kept the Pacers within reach by matching his career high with 34 points and nine rebounds. Two-time All-Star Pascal Siakam tormented his former team with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Indiana acquired Siakam in a January trade.
The contest continued to be a back-and-forth affair in the ensuing frame. There were five ties and four lead changes in the first six-plus minutes of the second quarter but Toronto surged ahead thanks to a 7-0 run.
A three from Siakam and a transition bucket from Mathurin on the next two Pacers possessions brought Indiana within one at 51-50. But back-to-back baskets from Barrett and Barnes built back a cushion for the Raptors.
Bill Kennedy, who called Turner for an offensive foul.
On offense, the Pacers were led by Domantas Sabonis who had a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Malcolm Brogdon also had a solid performance with 24 points and 7 assists.
Overall, it was a disappointing loss for the Pacers as they look to bounce back in their next game.
