Girona, fans gathered at the Montilivi Stadium to witness a thrilling match between Girona and Athletic Bilbao. The atmosphere was electric as both teams fought fiercely for victory.

Girona started strong, with an early goal from Stuani giving them the lead. However, Athletic Bilbao quickly equalized with a goal from Williams. The game remained tense as both teams battled for dominance on the field.

In the second half, Athletic Bilbao took the lead with another goal from Williams. Girona fought back valiantly, but despite a late goal from Portu, they were unable to secure a win. The final score was 3-2 in favor of Athletic Bilbao.

The Catalan side could have reduced the gap to three points but was sunk by an Alex Berenguer double and an Iñaki Williams goal and remained six adrift of Madrid.

Madrid blow for blow in the first half of La Liga. After going more than three months without defeat Girona has taken just one point from its last nine.

However Berenguer put the home side back in front with another strike in the 56th minute and Iñaki Williams extended their lead in similar fashion four minutes later.

Eric García put Girona back in the game by netting a close-range effort from a García free-kick but the hosts held on to secure the win.

Despite suffering their second consecutive league loss, Girona remain second in the standings with 56 points, two ahead third-placed Barcelona and six behind leaders Real Madrid. Fifth-placed Athletic moved up to 49 points, and trail Atlético Madrid in fourth by two points.

Girona's defence was all at sea as Inaki Williams netted Athletic's third.

Eric Garcia headed home from Aleix Garcia's cross to give Girona the chance to rescue a point.

They almost did deep in stoppage time but Athletic defender Dani Vivian brilliantly headed John Solis' shot off the line to safety.

"The reality has always been that our objective was to reach the Champions League, we're still there," Eric Garcia told DAZN.

Athletic was only two points behind fourth-placed Atletico Madrid and an automatic spot in the Champions League.

“Of course we’re going to dream about the Champions League," Williams said. "We’re taking it step by step, as we’ve been quietly saying. We're working and pushing ourselves to the max so that the success makes the noise.”
