Jazz and the Los Angeles Lakers left fans on the edge of their seats. With a final score of 138-122, it was a game that showcased the true essence of basketball. The Jazz, known for their precision and teamwork, displayed exceptional ball movement and offensive prowess throughout the match. Their star players seamlessly orchestrated plays, leaving the Lakers defense scrambling to keep up.
On the other hand, the Lakers fought valiantly but struggled to contain the relentless attacks from their opponents. Despite LeBron James' remarkable performance and Anthony Davis' defensive efforts, they were outmatched by a determined Jazz team.
Jordan Clarkson added 21 to help the Jazz win their eighth straight game at home and fifth straight overall. John Collins and Keyonte George chipped in 19 points apiece. Collins also grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds.
Utah moved a game over .500 for the first time this season after winning only seven of its first 23 games. The Jazz have their first five-game winning streak under coach Will Hardy.
“It’s taken a while, but I think we’re finding an identity on both ends of the floor and we’re able to execute night in and night out,” Markkanen said.
Lakers (28-25), one game removed from all five starters scoring at least 20 points, had all five starters get at least 15, the team building a 24-point lead early in the second half before holding off the Pistons the rest of the way.
It was the Lakers' fifth win in their last six games, with the team playing Wednesday in Utah before heading into the All-Star break.
“Going up to Utah tomorrow, having a complete performance and really pouring into that game. We need that game,” Ham said. But "just the totality of the situation. I'm really happy about where we are and where we're trending.”
As for the Jazz, they are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 26-28 record in 54 games.
They are 4-6 over their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game losing streak.
