The ceasefire in Gaza didn’t last, but seven days without experiencing intense Israeli bombardments is certainly welcome.  During the seven days when the worst of the violence was stopped, aid was able to get to the desperate people of Gaza, but additionally it allowed for the release of hostages, held by Hamas.
