By Ben Shanahan CINCINNATI — National champion gymnasts Mackenzie Waddington, age 12, and Xavier Waddington, 11, are coached by their mother, Jen Waddington, at the Toledo Greater Area YMCA. Mackenzie is the No. 1 YMCA gymnast in the country, having won national championships in the vault, uneven bars, and all-around competition two years in a row. Xavier is a back-to-back national champion in floor competition. Three weeks ago, the Bowling Green youth were competing at the YMCA nationals in Cincinnati alongside over 1,700 athletes representing over 80 gyms from 20-plus different states.
