In accordance to the Labor Law, all employees in the public and private sectors typically have an official leave on Monday, May 1 but Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly issued a decision postponing the Labor Day 2023 leave to Thursday, May 4 instead of Monday. After shifting the Labor Day holiday to Thursday, employees will get three days off including the Labor Day holiday, and Friday and Saturday which are a weekend holiday in Egypt at commercial banks and all state institutions.
