Sports Digest: Volleyball splits both matches, football team falls in season opener ...Middle East

Now that school has finished the first full week, sports are in full swing. Ukiah High girls varsity volleyball team hosted the Cardinal Newman on Aug. 24 and fell three games to one. All four games were close as the Lady Wildcats lost 26-24, 25-20, wont 25-23 and lost game four 25-16. The following day on Aug. 25 they hosted Santa Rosa high and defeated Santa Rosa 3 games to 1. All four games were again close as they won 25-22, lost 25-23, won 28-26 and 25-23. Both teams fought hard but the lady Wildcats prevailed on their home court.  Moving their overall record to 2-2 on the early season.
