by Steve Norris, Smith County Insider Weather Correspondent The remains of hurricane Ida brought three to four inches of rain to the Smith County area, but we fared better than some as 5 and 1/2 to 6 inches was reported in portions of Davidson and Rutherford Counties. After a week that started out with heavy rain, we will now end with sunny and pleasant weather. Scattered showers will return this weekend with 30% Saturday and 50% Sunday. We have rolled into the month of September, and we can get anything from 90 degrees to frost during the month.
