The Russian government has unveiled a broad program aimed at boosting electric vehicle (EV) use in the country. The ambitious plan is expected to drastically raise the share of EVs in less than a decade. The estimated cost of the scheme is reportedly hovering around $7.9 billion, with private investments expected to amount to $6.7 billion. Most of the funds will reportedly be spent on developing charging infrastructure, while some of the money is earmarked for developing alternate EV and hydrogen fuel cell technologies. Meanwhile, consumers would reportedly receive a subsidy of up to 25% on EVs costing $30,000 or less.
