Republican Yemen The Houthi-run Ministry of Education has decided to sack about 8000 teachers from the education sector, in an attempt to have full control of the education system in areas under the control of Houthi rebels. According to sources familiar with the matter, the so-called Education Office has approved the dismissal of 5000 teachers in the rebel-held capital, Sana’a, and 3000 more from other provinces. The Houthi-controlled Education Office believes that the teachers in question must be sacked from the education sector for not doing their duty.
