Tamarack Fire Causes Highway Closure on State Route 89 in Alpine County ...Middle East

Alpine County, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has temporarily closed both the northbound and southbound directions of State Route 89 from the Route 88 junction in Woodfords to Route 4 due to the Tamarack Fire. In Mono County, Monitor Pass/Route 89 has been partially reopened, allowing motorists access to Route 89 from U.S. Highway 395 to the junction of Route 4. Route 4 is open west of the Route 89/4 junction. Please Note: Caltrans may reclose the road should conditions change.
