Early Morning Traffic Stop Leads to Gun & Drug Seizure ...Middle East

Tuolumne, CA…Early Sunday Morning, Deputy Hammell was patrolling the area of Tuolumne City. During his patrol, he spotted a vehicle with several equipment violations. Deputy Hammell conducted a traffic enforcement stop on the driver, 20-year-old Colby Hathcoat of Twain Harte. Upon being contacted, Hathcoat displayed objective symptoms related to being under the influence of drugs. A search of Hathcoat’s vehicle uncovered drug packaging material, money, a digital scale, and a loaded, short barrel AR-15 rifle.
