Bill criminalising instant triple talaq passed in Parliament ...Middle East

The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2019 which bans the practice of instant triple talaq was passed in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. The Upper House passed the bill by 99 votes in favour and 84 against it. During the voting, the Upper House rejected the motion to send Triple Talaq Bill to a select panel by 100-84 votes.
