Islamabad: Pakistan’s top economic body has approved the largest ever healthcare project by the federal government worth Rs70 billion (US$436m). The project approved by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) includes Rs45 billion for new healthcare facilities, Rs7 billion for national health surveillance, Rs13 billion water sanitation, hygiene as well as interventions in less developed areas, said Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Asad Umar.
