GENEVA, N.Y. — For anyone who has never been kayaking but wants to try it, PaddleFest in Geneva is giving people the chance to do so.

On July 5, American Canoe Association Instructor Don Urmston and other guides will tell people how to get started, what gear you’ll need, where to go paddling, where to meet fellow paddlers, and more.

The event is free, with boats and other gear being provided. It will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at LakeFront Park on Lake Front Drive in Geneva.
