The Edgbaston in Birmingham is hosting the second Test of the five-match series between the India National Cricket Team and the England National Cricket Team.
Gill made his debut as India Test captain in the series opener against England at Headingley in Leeds and became the 37th man to lead India in the longest format of the game.
Meanwhile, the right-handed batsman continued his good form with the bat and played an excellent knock in the second game.
Shubman Gill came to bat after the dismissal of Nair and played a cautious knock. He showcased a lot of patience in the middle and scored his slowest ever fifty off 125 balls.

Although Gill didn't receive any support from Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja assisted his skipper well by playing a brilliant knock. Together, Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja shifted momentum towards India, and during the partnership, Shubman Gill smashed an epic ton.
