Jeremiah Smith is officially the top overall player in the new EA Sports College Football 26 video game, as long expected. However, the rising sophomore at Ohio State did not draw the 99 overall rating that many were anticipating.
Last week, EA Sports dropped a number of deep dive segments into the features and gameplay for the new edition. Included among those deep dives was a tease of Smith’s profile, showing the elite receiver as a 99 overall, building some hype that the Buckeye might land in the coveted 99 club, similar to those featured in the Madden NFL games.
However, the top player ratings for College Football 26 were dropped on Tuesday, and Smith came in at the top overall spot with a 98 overall. Offensively, rising Alabama sophomore Ryan Williams was the 2nd-highest player, coming in at 95 overall alongside Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love. Together, Williams and Smith serve as the cover athletes for College Football 26.
