SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Commuters across the Bay Area may experience some hiccups Tuesday morning as the Clipper card system is experiencing an outage.
Clipper, which is used as a form of payment across San Francisco Bay Area transit systems, is “experiencing an outage on all operators,” it announced at 7:17 a.m.
“Please be prepared to pay your fare with another form of payment if required by your transit agency,” Clipper wrote in its advisory.
Caltrain, which is one of dozens of agencies that accept Clipper, acknowledged it is seeing tagging issues with its Clipper readers.
“We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible,” Caltrain wrote.
There is no estimated time for the outage to be resolved.
