POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.

DISTURBANCE: Caller on Cleveland Lane requested at 7:12 p.m. June 26 to speak to an officer regarding construction in the area. An officer reported calling back and leaving a message when the person did not answer.

DISTURBANCE: Caller at Kohl’s on North Orchard Avenue reported at 7:16 p.m. June 26 that a man in the store was “yelling at himself.” An officer responded and reported that the person was “put in contact with crisis (workers).”

TRAFFIC STOP: An officer stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Mill and North State Streets at 10:14 p.m. June 26 and arrested a 42-year-old woman, no city of residence provided, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, selling/transporting marijuana and driving on a suspended/revoked license. She was cited and released.

TRAFFIC STOP: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of North State Street at 12:21 a.m. June 27 and arrested Victoria L. Biddle, 65, of Fort Bragg, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with priors and violating her probation. She was booked into Mendocino County Jail. Also arrested at the scene was a 51-year-old man for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia; he was cited and released.

VEHICLE PROWL: Caller in the 100 block of Mason Street reported at 8:40 a.m. June 27 that an attempted vehicle break-in had occurred. An officer responded and took a report.

ILLEGAL CAMPING: An officer contacted a person behaving suspiciously in the 100 block of Talmage Road at 8:35 a.m. June 27 and cited and released a 40-year-old Ukiah woman for camping against city code.

ATTEMPTED GAS THEFT: Caller in the 600 block of North Orchard Avenue reported at 8:55 a.m. June 27 that someone had tried to steal gas from a vehicle the night prior.

CAMPING: Caller in the 500 block of East Perkins Street reported at 12:18 a.m. June 28 that someone was camping. An officer responded and reported that the person was moving along. At 10:10 a.m., a caller at the same location reported that someone there was refusing to leave. Another officer responded and reported that the person was contacted and “left the area upon request.”

ANIMAL CRUELTY: Caller in the 400 block of South Main Street reported at 1:07 p.m. June 28 witnessing animal cruelty. An officer responded and reported that the animal was fine and no violations were observed. At 8:14 p.m., a caller at the same location reported someone there was camping against city code. An officer responded and reported that the person was moving along.

THEFT: An officer responded to CVS on South Orchard Avenue at 8:08 p.m. June 28 and arrested Jennifer L. Cook Jr., 56, of Fort Bragg, on suspicion of petty theft with priors and possession of a controlled substance. She was booked into county jail.

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the UPD regarding calls handled by the Fort Bragg Police Department.

TRESPASS: Caller in the 300 block of North Harrison Street reported at 4:26 p.m. June 26 that a woman was setting up camp. An officer responded and reported that the person was advised against trespassing and left upon request.

RABID RACCOON: Caller in the 300 block of North Corry Street reported at 6:01 p.m. June 26 that a possibly rabid raccoon was in a backyard. The information was taken and the caller was advised to “call again when the animal returned.”

DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Madrone Street at 8:08 p.m. June 27 and arrested James Verzilli, 58, no city of residence given, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was cited and released and the vehicle towed.

HOLE IN ROAD: Caller at the intersection of East Alder and Morrow streets reported at 9:32 p.m. June 27 that a “large hole” was in the roadway. Public Works employees were notified.
