Three people were injured Saturday morning after a pickup truck drove into a residential building in Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood, according to police.
Authorities said a woman of an unknown age was driving a pickup truck just after 6:15 a.m. in the 600 block of East Marquette Road when she crashed into a home. It was unclear what direction the vehicle was traveling in prior to the crash.
Three people inside the building, a 12-year-old boy, 26-year-old man and 28-year-old man, sustained minor injuries in the crash.
The 12-year-old boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where he was listed in good condition, while the two adult men were transported to St. Bernard Hospital where they were listed in good condition.
The driver of the truck was transported to University of Chicago Hospital where she was listed in good condition. Additionally, she was issued three citations in connection to the crash and was taken into custody.
According to NBC Chicago reporter Jenn Schanz, a dog inside the building was killed in the crash.
