Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance Directorate has unearthed huge assets allegedly belonging to Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Susil Kumar Panda of Ganjam Block, following raids prompted by accusations of possessing wealth disproportionate to his known income sources.
The searches, conducted simultaneously across seven locations in Ganjam and Puri districts, revealed a staggering array of properties and valuables.
The raids unearthed a triple-storeyed building (approx. 4,620 sq ft) in Ram Hari Nagar, Berhampur, a 2-BHK flat (approx. 700 sq ft) at Mukteswar Apartment, Ankuli, Berhampur, and a 1-BHK flat (approx. 600 sq ft) in Puri. Additionally, six high-value plots were identified in Bhubaneswar, Khordha, and Berhampur.
The Vigilance sleuths seized Rs. 2,05,000 in cash, a Mahindra KUV four-wheeler, and two two-wheelers. Bank deposits and other investments are under scrutiny, with a joint bank locker at Central Cooperative Bank, Berhampur, held by Panda and his spouse, yet to be examined.
The Vigilance Technical Wing is currently assessing the valuation of these assets, while further investigations continue to probe the source of Panda’s wealth.
