Christopher Ewert has been cut from the UFC roster after missing weight for his planned clash with Jackson McVey.
Undefeated prospect Ewert, with a professional record of 7-0, was set to make his latest bow on the UFC 317 bill at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

McVey stepped on the scales and weighed in at the middleweight limit of 185lbs, with all systems go for the showdown.
But incredibly, Ewert didn’t show at the ceremonial weigh-ins and wasn’t shown on the scales.
The UFC on their official weigh-in show subsequently announced that Ewert had missed weight.
He was reportedly 10lbs over the limit, which saw the fight cancelled.
It was a big blow to McVey who saw his place on the event taken away at a second time of asking.
But it was an even bigger misfortune for Ewert, who was then fired from the roster as revealed by commentator Jon Anik.
The Chilean will no longer get his UFC debut and is unlikely to receive his first run-out in the near future.
It is a frustrating spell for Ewert, who had given up a place on Dana White‘s Contender Series in August against Yuri Panferov.
Now it appears unlikely he will reclaim his place given his misconduct as he failed to reach the required weight.

Nonetheless the huge event will still go ahead, headlined by Ilia Topuria‘s huge tilt with Charles Oliveira.
The pair will meet for the vacant UFC lightweight title in a blockbuster clash.
Despite fears that Oliveira could too miss weight given his harsh cut, both fighters made the 155lbs limit.
Victory for Topuria will see him become a two-weight champion having graduated from the featherweight division as king.
And the power-striking phenom is confident he will get the job done in just the first round.
He said: “I’m going to finish him in the first round. He walks forward — this is all I need.
“The time that it takes me to knock out my opponents is the time that it takes me to close the distance, because they run away.
“But with Charles, I’m not going to need to close the distance because he walks forward.
“This is all I need to take his lights out. Just try to stay in the middle of the Octagon. Just try to do that, and you’re not going to see me coming.”
