PENFIELD, N.Y. – A new service center for veterans and older adults opened its doors Friday at Baytown Plaza in Penfield. This satellite office will provide vital services and is staffed by the Office of the Aging, Lifespan, and Veterans Service Agency.
“These offices are meant to break down barriers and make it easier for veterans to access the services they have earned and are entitled to,” officials said.
In addition to the Penfield location, there is another service center at the Mall at Greece Ridge.
Both offices provide free services to veterans and their families. The VSA can also help navigate the United States Department of Veterans Affairs’ claim system, including filing appeals for denied claims, andwill review eligibility for all programs to make sure veterans are getting all of their benefits.
Both offices operate Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
