ALDI will have opened 10 new stores by the end of June in the US, as its aggressive expansion plans continue.
By the end of the year, the supermarket chain plans to have opened over 200 new stores, making history in the process.

By the end of the month, Aldi will haven opened 10 new stores across six states including Florida, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
Out of that total, nine will have their grand openings on Thursday, June 26 and the final one will have it the following day.
Shoppers will be given a sneak peek the day before the store opening and will be invited to the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
This comes as Aldi plans to open 225 new stores by the end of 2025.
It would be the largest number of new stores it would have opened in the US in a year if that happened.
By the end of 2028, Aldi plans to open 800 new locations, and has already opened 40 this year.
A large part of this expansion is thanks to Aldi‘s acquisition of Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket stores.
Through the deal, Aldi gained about 400 grocery stores across Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida.
Around three quarters of these were in Florida.
Aldi CEO Jason Hart said: “With the acquisition of Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarkets, Aldi will serve even more communities in the Southeast, bringing us closer to our customers in a region where we’ve already experienced significant demand for affordable, quality groceries.”
NEW STORE CHANGES
Aldi plans to reopen some of the stores under the Winn-Dixie name, and convert the others into smaller Aldi formats.
About 220 Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket stores will be converted by 2027.
As part of the store conversions, some changes will be made given the different format.

As it goes Aldi stores are typically smaller than other major retailers, and are about half the size of a normal Winn-Dixie.
Aldi stores are generally small because they offer less selection and brands than typical retailers, with over 90% of its products being private label brands.
Aldi does not use artistic displays, fancy signs, or relaxing music to encourage shoppers to spend longer in store.
The retailer also uses straightforward aisles that do not guide shoppers round.
Shoppers have wondered exactly how Aldi will convert the much bigger Winn-Dixie and Harveys spaces.
On social media, one person said: “I wonder what they will do with all the rest of the building. You can put at least two ALDI’s in there.”
