Jake Paul used his purse to achieve his 15-year dream of buying a ranch.
The Youtuber-turned-boxer claims to have made $40million from his win against Mike Tyson at the AT&T Stadium.
Paul has been fighting since 2020, with the purses growing each boutGettyPaul, who is more than three decades his junior, has bought a sprawling $39m ranch in Georgia with the money he made by beating the former heavyweight champion.
The historic plantation covers 5,746 acres, boasting a 30-acre duck pond, 20-acre eagle lake and five miles of spring creeks.
The ranch, known as ‘Southlands Plantation’ in Decatur County, Georgia, was originally listed for $42.5m.
The Appalachian Mountains are only a stone’s throw away as Decatur County is deep in the south of Georgia, near the border with Florida.
Believed to be one of the most expensive private land sales in the state’s history, Paul’s purchase is being referred to as ‘the land ownership equivalent to owning an NFL team’.
Admittedly, Paul said that the plantation is a little bit bigger than what he wanted, but said he knew he had to buy it.
Their controversial fight took place back in November last year, when ‘Iron Mike’ Tyson came out of retirement to make the bout.
Now he will face the sternest examination of his boxing credentials as he takes on former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on June 28.
Chavez Jr, a former rival of Canelo Alvarez, is expected by Paul to have given him a real tough time and be far more difficult to navigate than Tyson.
“I would say Chavez is most likely going to be the toughest opponent [I have faced yet], the most experienced, literally the most amount of fights out of all of my opponents,” Paul told DAZN.
Paul earned $20 million for his victory over Tyson, and has purchased a ranchEsther Lin/MVP“He’s a former world champion which I haven’t faced a former boxing world champion other than Mike Tyson but obviously Mike was older, Chavez is still in his thirties so I think this is gonna be the toughest one.”
Since making his pro debut in 2020, facing fellow YouTubers, mixed martial artists, and pro boxers along the way – Paul gone 11-1 as a boxer – his only defeat on his pro record coming against Tommy Fury in 2023.
Now he’s fighting for the first time since his controversial clash with ‘Iron Mike’.
He admitted to holding back, despite having outpointed the former heavyweight champion.
Paul is gearing up now to face Chavez Jr, another ex-world champion, the son of the legendary Julio Cesar Sr.
He currently competes in crossover clashes with MMA fighters and has lost to former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
The ranch is worth $40 million, a fortune which can be replaced in his next fightGettyDespite his Hall of Fame status, the 39-year-old Mexican has had just one fight since 2021, but his professional record sits at 54-6-1.
Should Paul win, big fights could be on the horizon including an exhibition with Gervonta Davis, which is being touted for November.
