SHOPPERS are distraught after a beloved retailer announced the closure of five major locations.
The company said the closures are a part of the business’s focus to “run more efficiently” and ensure the long-term success of the business.

Five locations in Milwaukee will be impacted by the closures, according to a Pick ‘n’ Save spokesperson.
Pick ‘n’ Save became a fan-favorite store thanks to its discounted meat, seafood, produce and deli items.
The store sells a variety of popular name-brand products and offers coupons for savvy shoppers.
Now, customers are left wondering where they can shop for affordable produce.
Wisconsin local Gwendolyn Mayon told WITI that she’s at her local Pick ‘n’ Save nearly every other day.
“This is the good one,” Mayon said.
“They have really good food, really good produce, really good deals.
“There are no other options […] They should leave it here.”
Some customers are concerned that the closure of these locations will leave food deserts in certain areas.
In the past decade, the number of food deserts in the US has increased by 5%, leaving many shoppers wondering where they can turn to buy healthy groceries.
The increase of food deserts leads to some residents having to make unhealthy food choices since they can’t easily access nutritious groceries.
“It will be a hardship to the community,” shopper Brandy Carson said.
“This is a commodity that’s needed.”
“Where are we going to go?” shopper Oddis Hudson asked WITI.
“Towards that way? Or all the way up that way? Or further that way?”

“It’s going to be a big inconvenience for us,” said Pick ‘n’ Save shopper Jeffrey Walker.
“I don’t know what we’re going to do as a community, where we going to go grocery shopping if they close it down,” shopper Deray Owens told WISN.
