Needing 371, the Ben Stokes-led team managed to claim an emphatic victory in Headingley with 5 wickets in hand moments before stumps. India’s defeat is the first instance of a team scoring 5 hundreds in a Test match and still losing.

Will Bumrah play 2nd England Test?

After losing, Shubman Gill was asked whether Jasprit Bumrah would play in the India vs England 2nd Test. The young captain said they’ll assess that during the 7-day break between Tests and then determine whether he’ll feature for India in Birmingham or not. Bumrah bowled the most overs out of any fast bowler at Headingley.

Sanju Samson to play KCL

Sanju Samson might play in the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) 2025 season. The wicketkeeper batter hadn’t participated in the inaugural edition of the tournament last year. However, that may change despite Samson’s issues with the Kerala Cricket Association. The KCL 2025 auction will take place on July 5 and it will run from August 22 to September 7.

Rishabh Pant handed demerit point

ICC has reprimanded Rishabh Pant for his on-field conduct during the third day’s play of the Headingley Test. The wicketkeeper wanted the umpires to change the ball and when they declined, back threw the ball along the ground in dissent. Pant has been handed one demerit point, and up to 50% of his match fee can also be docked.

Jaiswal’s 4th dropped catch, cost India the match?

After donning the first day, Yashasvi Jaiswal had a horrific time in the middle. He dropped three catches in the first innings. Then scored just 4 runs in the second innings. And during the England chase, dropped a fourth catch. And not just anyone, but ‘Player of the Match’ Ben Duckett on 97. He scored another 52 runs after getting dropped as England won with ease in the end.

KL Rahul hurt about Test average

KL Rahul has 5 Test hundreds as India’s opener in SENA countries. And only Sunil Gavaskar has more hundreds as an opener than him outside of Asia. Yet, when you look at his number, it shows that Rahul averages just 34.70 in Test cricket. The batter has himself expressed that he’s hurt when he looks at his record but thinks that now all he wants to do is make an impact for the team.
