San Diego’s buzzing Little Italy neighborhood is about to welcome a new addition that promises to blend style, comfort, and convenience.
Opening in summer 2025, the Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown Little Italy will bring 334 guest rooms to one of the city’s most walkable and lively communities.
Minutes from the airport and steps from the area’s most popular restaurants, galleries, and waterfront attractions, this new hotel will serve those in town for business, a family event, or a weekend getaway. It will be close to The Embarcadero, Petco Park, the Gaslamp Quarter, and the San Diego Convention Center.
Inside, guests will find a range of accommodations—from rooms with open-air balconies to two-story townhouse suites with separate living areas and marina views. The hotel’s design draws inspiration from the coastal beauty of San Diego itself, featuring light, natural tones, wood textures, and nautical accents that create a fresh, breezy atmosphere.
Amenities will include a skydeck pool and terrace for sunset lounging, a fitness center, a business hub, and a sundry shop stocked with travel basics. There’s also a locally inspired restaurant and lobby bar in the works, focusing on seasonal Mediterranean-Californian fare made with regional ingredients—an easy stop for guests and locals alike.
For events and celebrations, the hotel will offer over 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, including ballrooms, boardrooms, and breakout areas. These spaces nod to the surrounding neighborhood with names like the India Street Room, the Amici Ballroom, and the Cardini Boardroom.
Located at 1646 Front St, the hotel sits on the site of the current Little Italy Hotel.
