ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Americans aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. The team announced that it’s entering a five-year lease agreement with the company VenuWorks, allowing the team to keep playing at The Blue Cross Arena.
VenuWorks has been the new manager of the arena since May after approval from city leaders. The agreement between the company and the team will begin this upcoming season. That will be the Amerks’ 70th season at the Blue Cross Arena.
Last season, the Amerks made it all the way to the North Division Finals of the AHL playoffs, where the team fell to the Laval Rocket in game five.
