The Orange County Board of Health recently approved a resolution recognizing “Screen-Free Week” and urging residents to take steps to limit kids’ screen time (TVs and computers as well as personal devices). They’re also urging local school districts and state lawmakers to take action to restrict the use of personal devices in the classroom, citing a rising tide of data about the negative effect of screens on school performance and students’ mental health.
