Jasprit Bumrah has continued to set himself apart. The pacer bagged a 5-wicket haul in Headingley and broke a few records on the way. However, his teammate didn’t help him enough, dropping 6 catches in the first innings itself. Sai Sudharsan’s Test debut has also come to an end, and not on a great note. BCCI has shared new guidelines for IPL teams. Canada has qualified for the 2026 T20 World Cup. And cricket will move on from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, says an ex-Indian captain.

Jasprit Bumrah continues to carry the Indian bowling lineup alone. The pacer claimed his 12th five-wicket haul in Test cricket away from home, joint-most for an Indian fast bowler (Kapil Dev). He gave away 83 runs to take 5 wickets, while other Indian pacers gave away 382 runs. Bumrah now has the 2nd most five-wicket hauls in SENA countries, 10, after Wasim Akram (11).
BCCI’s guidelines for IPL teams
In the aftermath of the Bengaluru stampede during the RCB celebrations, the BCCI has brought in new guidelines. Going forward, IPL teams need to seek formal permission from the board before organising any parade/celebration. And they can only do so 3-4 days after winning the title. Read the full guidelines from BCCI here.
India & Jaiswal’s catching nightmare
India managed to gain a 6-run lead in the Headingley Test but dropped 6 catches on the way. Yashasvi Jaiswal shelled three chances, while Ravindra Jadeja, Sai Sudharsan, and Rishabh Pant were the other culprits. This is India’s worst fielding performance in the last 5 years. If they want to beat England, they’ll need to do better.
