Dana White stepped in to ensure Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford didn’t fully come to blows over two months before their scheduled fight.
Sunday’s heated face-off in New York saw things boil over with Canelo shoving his American opponent as the pair went head-to-head.

One of those who put their body on the line was White, who is promoting the undisputed super-middleweight world title fight in what is the UFC president’s first boxing show.
As a safe distance emerged between Canelo and Crawford, the Mexican was ushered off the stage while Crawford is seen smiling and nodding his head in apparent claim of victory during that confrontation.
Canelo and Crawford lock horns at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on September 13 with the fight being broadcast live on Netflix.
Unbeaten Crawford is stepping up two weight classes in order to fight Canelo.
And Canelo, who reclaimed his world titles with victory in his last bout against William Scull, insists he will prove too strong for Crawford.
“I’ve been not favourite, a favourite. I’ve been in both situations but I’m going to be very disciplined,” said Canelo. “I’m going to put my best in the training camp.
“This is not an easy fight because [Crawford is] moving up and everything. I’ve been in that situation and that doesn’t matter when you are a great fighter.
“I have experience, power and I believe I have advantages on my weight. It’s going to be a good fight but I’m here to win.”
But four-weight world champion Crawford says the doubters will only fuel him in what is one of the greatest challenges of his career.

The fighters have been conducting multiple media events this week ahead of the fight“It just motivates me to go out there and put on a great performance. This is my homecoming fight,” he said.
“I’m expecting to win however it comes.”
Canelo responded: “This is going to be one of my best fights in my history.
“For me it’s very important to win this fight. I love boxing. I love winning. I’m a winner so I’m very excited to to be in the ring already.”
