A WOMAN has been slammed online for labeling a man in her phone “free food,” as TikTok is flooded with singles dating for dinner.
More and more young people are boasting about their dinner scams, in a growing trend that is dividing opinion.

Often, they have no intention of taking things further, it is all so they don’t have to pay for their own groceries.
Some of the most vocal people revealing themselves as foodie callers are on TikTok.
One creator, named Jocelyn, posted a video with the caption “when you keep going on dates for the free food & drinks.”
In the comments, lots of folks shared that they had done similar things.
One TikToker jumped in: “I did this for two weeks straight once [and] I was never hungry.”
Another wrote: “This is going to be me tomorrow, ugh.”
A second video showed the exact same experience, with a young girl getting ready for her second foodie call of the week.
The caption on Alana’s video said: “Off on my second date this week cause I can’t do meal prep.”
Similar comments under that video told the same story, with many recounting when they had done the same in the past.
One TikTok user commented: “I literally had dates for 10 days straight because I didn’t want to go grocery shopping.”
“I did this once, had three first dates within two weeks and I went to my fave restaurant each time,” another wrote.
LOTS OF FOODIE CALLS
While these are just two examples, it is more common than that.
A 2019 study published in the “Society for Personality and Social Psychology” found that up to one in three women admitted to going on foodie calls.
