DENVER (KDVR) — Multiple Pinpoint Weather Alert Days have been issued for Friday and Saturday as Denver weather's high temperatures climb toward record levels.

Weather tonight: Mainly clear, warm

Thursday night will stay mainly clear and warm. Low temperatures will fall to the mid-60s, which is about 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.

Weather tomorrow: Sunny, record heat

Friday will be sunny, hot and breezy.

It will be the hottest day of the year so far with high temperatures climbing up toward 99 degrees, which would tie the daily record set in 2017.

Because of the hot weather, a heat advisory is set to go into effect from 11 a.m. Friday through 6 p.m. Saturday.

In the mountains and in western Colorado, there will be high fire danger for the hot, dry and breezy conditions.

Looking ahead: Hot weekend, showers return for the workweek

Saturday will be similar to Friday with sunshine and hot temperatures. Highs will again climb near record levels, which in Denver means a high of 99 degrees.

On Sunday, temperatures will come down slightly to the mid-90s, which is still about 10 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year.

On Sunday evening, a cold front will move through the area and set the stage for a cooler workweek. Monday through Thursday, temperatures will start in the mid-50s, then climb to a high in the upper 70s to lower 80s alongside scattered showers.
