Trent Alexander-Arnold is donning a new number at Real Madrid, but that’s not the only thing he’s changed.
The right-back, who makes his Real debut tonight against Al Hilal in the Club World Cup, departed Liverpool earlier this month.

He will wear the No.12 for Los Blancos instead, after LaLiga rules meant he could not stick with his usual digits.
But as fans watch him make his debut in the USA, they will notice something else new on his kit too…
Why is Alexander-Arnold wearing ‘Trent’ on his shirt?
Alexander-Arnold has opted to change his name on his shirt.
At Real Madrid, he will now have his first name, Trent, on the back.
It is a decision that the 26-year-old explained during his unveiling press conference after arriving at the Bernabeu.
“Quite an easy explanation to that, to be honest,” he said.
“I’ve always found that when I travel to Europe that the whole name situation confuses a lot of people.
“People call me Arnold, Alexander, Alex, Trent. So I thought, let’s make it easy, Trent on the back, be known as Trent.”
So, it seems that to make his name simpler for others, he’s decided to drop the Alexander-Arnold for a shorter approach.

He lines up in a defence that also features ex-Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen, who joined him at Los Blancos this summer.
His England teammate Jude Bellingham also starts.
Alexander-Arnold is looking forward to getting into the flow of things for Real Madrid as he begins his career at the club.
Speaking on training with his new side so far, he admitted: “[The players] have a lot of quality. The ball moves very quickly.
“Obviously, it’s very different from what I’m used to.
“They’re stars, but it’s fine, I like the change. I’m enjoying being part of it. I feel very good and I’m happy to be here.”
