Celebrity makeup artist Bobbi Brown has focused her expertise and product line on this common dilemma, and has a genius trick for getting it right.
Brown says that simply using undereye concealer alone is not going to work for most people.
Brown's trick is to use a color corrector underneath your concealer. Brightening under the eyes first with a product that corrects your specific type of under eye circle will "cancel whatever darkness you have," she says. The color corrector could be a pencil, cream, powder or crayon. Regardless of the type, it should go on after moisturizer and before concealer.

How to Apply a Color Corrector
Next, check the area and identify where you have discoloration. "You might see some black, some purple, some green, the neutralizer will correct it." Brown says to use enough product to fully cover the discolored areas.
