DENVER (KDVR) — Federal Boulevard will be closed for approximately 10 weeks this summer for culvert repair, according to Littleton officials.
The roadway will be closed between Belleview Avenue and Progress Avenue, with work scheduled to begin the week of June 23. The project will replace a failing culvert that runs under the roadway.

Crews will also replace a concrete junction box and modify two existing junction boxes, and will install approximately 257 linear feet of cured-in-place pipe lining.
The city of Littleton said that it is prioritizing repairs to the city's stormwater system and that includes several "major culvert replacements."
"This follows a citywide evaluation of stormwater infrastructure showing that some of the system’s components are at the end of their usable life," the city stated.
In 2023, Littleton crews replaced a culvert that had failed because it had reached the end of its operational lifespan. The culvert was under Jackass Hill Road, and crews later completed a similar project under East Mineral Avenue.

The city plans to close Federal Boulevard completely south of Belleview Avenue, but detours will be marked for motorists in the area, and there will be local access to Partner Colorado Credit Union and Foushee SalonSpa. Ways around the closure include taking South Irving Street or West Centennial Drive, or taking Highway 85 around the area.
