(NEXSTAR) — From hotels to golf courses to sneakers and a Bible, the Trump Organization's portfolio has expanded recently. Its newest addition was announced Monday: Trump Mobile.

According to Donald Trump Jr., the Trump Organization determined that the mobile phone industry has experienced "lackluster performance" with an "underserved" audience. Monday's announcement of Trump Mobile included the unveiling of a mobile plan and a gold phone, but Trump Jr. said "an entire package of products" will be introduced.

Among the 47 Plan's offerings are access to telemedicine, roadside assistance, and unlimited texting to 100 countries, according to Trump Jr. In a nod to President Donald Trump's nonconsecutive terms, the 47 Plan will cost $47.45 a month. Trump Mobile is also "working with all three major carriers" to give customers access to 5G throughout the country, an apparent reference to Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile.

The Trump Organization said Monday that those interested in the Trump Mobile phone plan are able to switch now by calling the company's customer service team. While Monday's press release says the U.S.-based customer service team is available "24 hours a day to assist," the Trump Mobile site says customer service representatives are available "7 Days a week at 8 to 9 CST Monday thru Friday."

You can check if your phone is eligible for Trump Mobile on the company's website.

Trump Mobile's phone, meanwhile, isn't available just yet. The "T1 Phone" has been described as a “sleek, gold smartphone engineered for performance and proudly designed and built in the United States for customers who expect the best from their mobile carrier.” While gold has stood as Trump's signature color, his eldest son told Nexstar's NewsNation that the president is "not involved in any of these things."

As described, the T1 phone comes with a gold body with "T1" and an American flag on the reverse, as well as a fast charging battery, 256GB of internal storage, a headphone jack, and a USB Type-C charging port. It will operate on Google's Android 15 system, according to Trump Mobile.

You're able to pre-order the T1 Phone now online — it costs $499, with a $100 down payment — but it's not entirely clear when it will be available.

In Monday's press release, the Trump Organization said the T1 Phone will be released in August, while the Trump Mobile website says it will be released in September. Trump Mobile did not immediately respond to Nexstar's request for clarification.

The Trump Organization also said the T1 Phone will be designed and made by another company, not Trump Mobile. According to the Associated Press, the Trump Organization did not respond to multiple requests for additional information about the manufacturing of the phone.

Experts have also questioned whether the T1 Phone will be built in the U.S. Francisco Jeronimo, vice president at International Data Corp., told CNBC that such a thing would be "completely impossible," a sentiment echoed by Jeff Fieldhack, research director at Counterpoint Research. Paolo Pescatore, a telecom analyst, told The Washington Post that it would take time to get the necessary supply chain established for smartphones to be built in the U.S.

For comparison, Apple relies on factories outside the U.S. to build its iPhones and other offerings, a recent point of contention for Trump.

During a podcast appearance Monday, Eric Trump said the T1 Phones will “eventually all … be built in the United States,” The Washington Post reported.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
