The federal holiday Juneteenth is celebrated on June 19, which this year is Thursday. Here’s the holiday plan for offices in the Bay Area:
Banks closed. ATMs will be in operation.
Stock markets closed. No operations at U.S. stock and bond markets, including the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq.
Federal agencies including the post office closed. There will be no regular mail delivery Thursday, although Priority Mail Express will be delivered. Self-service kiosks in post offices will be operational.
Most California state offices open. State workers don’t get a paid holiday off, although they have the option to take Juneteenth off in lieu of a personal day. The Department of Motor Vehicles has announced it will observe normal weekday hours.
Most city and county offices in the Bay Area closed. This includes courts and most public libraries.
Most stores and other businesses open.
Caltrain and BART on normal weekday schedule.
